12-30-08 (Tuesday)

Moving slowly but surely...I just got back to the office after setting a temporary electrical pole (with our crew) at Gradma Bet's house. We are in the final stages of making preparation for demolition. We are still waiting on the property deed to be recorded so that we can finish our permitting. Tim Sheehan said this should be completed sometime next week.

Hope everyone has a great and safe New Years! Do not forget our January 5, 2009 meeting at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid).

God is GOOD! Last Friday we had our annual Employee Christmas party. Throughout this past year God has blessed our company, giving us an opportunity to share these blessings with our employees by the means of an employee year end profit sharing bonus. On this same day our employees returned the favor by giving me a Christmas gift, which was a $500.00 donation to Kingdom Builders for the Betty Wilson project. What a beautiful thing to witness God's blessings!

REMINDER: Tonight's meeting is canceled. We have rescheduled this meeting for January 5, 2009 at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid).

12-16-08 (Tuesday)

I attended a meeting last night with Kathy Freeman, Cathy Britt, and Lisa Bellamy to discuss our ground breaking and fundraising events. We are making some changes with these events and I will keep everybody posted when we finalize our plans.

IT'S HERE...The $15,000.00 check from the Lattner Foundation! I received a copy of the check from Cathy Britt...there are not enough words to explain the gratitude towards the Lattner Foundation for their financial help with this project. I know God will continue to bless the Lattner Foundation as they continue to give to other "needy" causes...PRAISE GOD!

We are canceling our Monday 12-22-08 7:00 PM meeting and rescheduling it for Monday 1-5-09 at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid). The Holidays have got me and everyone else too busy to make this meeting.

12-5-08 (Friday)

Several meetings ago Paul and Cathy Brit mentioned that Rebuilding Together would have some funds left over as they are shutting down its operation. Paul asked if anyone knew of a need where remaining efforts and funds could be directed. Steven Hollingsed mentioned the need of Keane and Chris West with their trailer (rotten floors, settling, etc...). Paul has since met with Keane to discuss some of these issues and the possibility of helping them. It was discovered that these problems are much more serious than we thought; trailer settling issues (being on muck) and a very serious mold problem. Paul has made a suggestion and started the process to patch some of the defective flooring (caused by mold) with the available funds. Please keep Keane and Chris in your prayers along with Kingdom Builders; God give us ALL specific direction in this matter.

Paul and Cathy thanks for your help with this problem, you guys are awesome! What you are doing will buy Keane and Chris some time for God to work through their problem.

Do not forget our next scheduled meeting Monday 12-8-08 at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid). A final thank you goes out to all the kids that participated in the car wash last Saturday raising almost $200.00 dollars for Grandma Bet's home.

11-25-08 (Tuesday)

WORSHIP happened again at last nights meeting, starting with prayer, praise reports and testimony. We had some special guests with us last night, they were Johnnie and Beulah Sholtz (Maurice's Uncle and Auntie). Beulah is part of the Prayer Band in Highway Park that meets every day from 12:30 - 3:00 PM to praise God, pray, and read His word. Beulah gave testimony that during the two weeks we were praying about whether God wanted us to build Grandma Bet a new home or not, she was also praying with and for Grandma Bet letting her know that she had confirmation from God that he was going to provide her with a new home. What an awesome testimony to see how God was working in the lives of others before this project even started. I am thankful there is a group like the Prayer
Band who realize the importance of praise, prayer and God's word...worshipping every day.

Maurice gave testimony of the friendship that developed between Margie MacDonald and Grandma Bet while she was in the nursing home (LPHC) recovering from hip surgery. Margie is a widow who attends First Baptist Church and is one of the widows I look after through our Deacon ministry. I have been telling Margie about Grandma Bet and the project, it was interesting how God was able to weave the lives of these two women together during their stay at LPHC. I think what touched me the most (and many others) is when Margie kissed Grandma Bet during one of their times together, stating "that is the first time I have ever kissed a black person." WOW, look how God has taken this project to a level of breaking down racial barriers and showing us that true love for each other is not determined by skin color. 1 John 4: 7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God, because God is love. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (NIV). This is a powerful scripture; is race, generation, ethnic, or any other things keeping you from showing God's love like he has called us to do?

As the meeting progressed we discussed the legal issues surrounding the property, which should be worked out through Tim Sheehan by next Monday, permitting which we can now start since we have now obtained engineered stamped plans from Grif Broach, cash donations and "in kind" donations. As we completed our house takeoff sheet we concluded that we have secured over 70% of our resources through "in kind" and cash donations to build Grandma Bet's home. It was agreed by all that all things are possible through God, we just have to have FAITH, and as Pastor Rick Nations would say "sometimes more FAITH then SENSE."

Our intent in two weeks is to have a construction start date and possibly even the building permit pulled. Terry Oleary (Public Relations) wants to do a story to promote the project when we break ground. Lou Canevari has already said he has plenty of gold shovels for the ground breaking. Get ready, God's blessing is about to take on the physical appearance of a HOME.

Maurice reminded me as we were leaving the meeting about the Car Wash that the kids were going to be doing this week on Saturday (11-29-08) between 8:00 AM and 12:00 Noon at Bank of America to raise money for Grandma Bet. Don't you need your car washed?

Thanks to all who continue to make this project a success. I pray that everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Psalm 100, 1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever, his faithfulness continues through all generations (NIV). This is one of my favorite Psalms in the Bible.

11-22-08 (Saturday)

Yesterday I got a call from my Dad (Bo Seignious) letting me know that W & W Lumber is going to donate the energy shield (for the interior block walls), and all the interior framing lumber for Grandma Bet's house.

I want to thank my Dad who has not only helped me with this project, but who has countless times helped me (at any given time) throughout my life. As I type this tears come to my eyes, knowing the love and passion my Dad has for his God, family, and others. There is no doubt I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the inspiration from my Dad; he is the perfect model of the humble servant Jesus has called us to be.

Thanks seem so meaningless to all those who are helping with this project.

11-17-08 (Monday)

What a beautiful thing it is to be part of something where you get to see God's people at work...all races all generations. Yesterday at Church I had a member of our congregation (Bill Smith) give a donation towards the project. Here is a man that has been a faithful servant of God ever since I have known him, he recognizes the need and responds through WORSHIP, sacrificing what he has for the Kingdom of God. Thanks Bill for the Godly example you set through faith and obedience.

REMINDER: This is the last week for all those who are trying to secure "in kind" donations from individuals or companies, so we can see where we are from a financial standpoint at next Monday nights meeting.

11-11-08 (Tuesday)

GOD IS GOOD! I just received a phone call from Tom Wrenn who made contact with Gary Bagwell (Bagwell Lumber Company) today. Gary has agreed to provide all the interior doors and trim package (at no cost) for the project.

Thanks Tom for your obedience and willingness to serve. And a final thank you to Gary Bagwell for partnering with us to fulfill God's plan for Grandma Bet and God's Kingdom.
11-11-08 (Tuesday)

Last nights meeting opened in prayer that focused our meeting time on a time of worship. Hebrews 13: 15-16 With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name. 16Don't for get to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God (NLT). Setting this tone at the start of our meeting, made a difference in the spirit of all in attendance.

I mentioned that I had the opportunity to visit Grandma Bet in the nursing home Saturday. She looks very good and is very much ready to go home. What a sweet time I had with her conversing about her life and spiritual issues. Our discussion concluded with both of us imagining what would the world be like if everyone was to love each other and remove all the barriers of race, wealth, etc....

Maurice will be meeting with Tim Sheehan Wednesday to work out the legal details of the one building lot not in Grandma Bet's name. This is a must before we can proceed with the permitting process.

Grif Broach continues to keep the project on track by providing us tonight with a site plan. We also have the truss engineering done so that Grif can get this information to his structural engineer (the last hurdle we have to get over before we have a finalized plan set to apply for the building permits).

The meeting progressed to a focus on the following: How can those donating services and materials obtain tax breaks. How can we save sales tax dollars on materials purchased. What type of insurance coverages do we need in place to protect Grandma Bet and all those who are working on the project. Should we install a temporary construction fence around the project site, to help alleviate any liabilities during construction and protect all the children that may wander onto the project site unattended. We finished our discussion with how we were doing with project "in kind" donations.

We closed the meeting with all agreeing that by our next meeting it was time to nail down all of the "in kind" donations for the project, in order to fill in our takeoff sheet and see what was needed financially to complete the project; challenging everyone to pray, pray, pray...

We all agreed with a January 17, 2009 date for the "Betty Wilson Benefit" to be held at Devane Park in Lake Placid. Cathy Britt and Lisa Bellamy will be getting together to start working out the details of the benefit. If you have any ideas, please direct them to one of these two ladies. Our next scheduled meeting is November 24 at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid).

Oh by the way I forgot to mention a praise report. Rick Miller could not attend our meeting last night because his daughter Emily made a perfect score on the 5th grade FCAT test and was being awarded by the Highlands County School Board; how awesome is that!

Grandma Bet has been moved from the hospital to the Lake Placid Health Care facility for after surgery recovery. According to Maurice, she is doing good. Maurice urges everyone to continue praying-as we should do everyday.

Yesterday afternoon I spoke to Maurice and he said Grandma Bet's hip replacement surgery went very well. Maurice has asked that we continue to pray for Grandma Bet as she goes through the healing process.

I want to take this time a thank Steve Davis for his effort and work on this project. Steve has helped in talking to our County Commissioners about waiving impact/permit fees, picked up all the plan copies and delivered them to my office. He has also investigated the ownership of the building site and found that a quick deed property claim may be needed to get one of the lots in Grandma Bet's name, so that we can proceed with construction. Steve you have been a life long friend and it is a privilege to serve Christ with you...I look forward to many more days building God's Kingdom together.

Wow! I called Bud Whitlock (Whitlock Land Surveying) this morning about making plan copies, which is above and beyond what he agreed to donate for the project. Grif Broach took the plans by Bud Whitlock's office this morning around 9:00 AM. He just called me at 1:45 PM and said all (25) plan copies were done and ready for pick-up. God has surrounded us with some awesome companies and individuals to help us complete this project. Thanks Bud for going above what was asked-PRAISE GOD!

10-28-08 (Tuesday)

Once again last nights meeting was well attended. We started the meeting reading scripture (Psalms 127), prayer and distributing Kingdom Builders
t-shirts that Maurice and his son made. Anybody interested in a t-shirt needs to call Maurice at 243-1053 with their size-THANKS GUYS!

Grif Broach brought a set of final drawings for everyone to review. I can't say enough about how much Grif has helped with the drafting and engineering of this project. Grif has delivered everything he promised on time! I know we would not be where we are today if it wasn't for Grif Broach's unselfish dedication to the project-THANKS Grif for getting us off to a great start.

Last week, Maurice had the opportunity to speak to Mike Bevis (Bevis Construction) about the project. Mike attended tonight's meeting, wanting to get involved. Mike is committed to talking to some of his contacts about in-kind donations, providing labor to form and pour the concrete slab, providing labor to set trusses, install sheeting and complete the roof dry in.

It is my intent to have the plans copied this week and give them out to all in attendance to get prices and/or in kind donations for specific scopes of work.

We hope to meet in two weeks (11-10-08) and be able to get a perspective on what is needed financially to complete the project.

Paul and Cathy Britt have agreed to talk to someone they know about putting together some type of promotional package that can be used to better explain the project and used for financial fundraising.

We closed the meeting talking about the project benefit/fundraiser. Lisa Bellamy said she is talking and will continue to talk to individuals that want to be a part of this event. We talked about setting a date sometime in mid January 2009. I hope to talk to our praise team (Caleb's Cadence) this week, so we can nail a date down. Terry Weaver has committed to helping with the sound system and stage (if needed). We all agreed that we need to pray, plan and advertise the event for it to be successful. Think about it...different denominations, generations, and races all coming together to praise God, for the opportunity to serve as brothers and sisters in Christ, blessing us so we can build Grandma Bet a new home.

John 4:21 Jesus replied, "Believe me, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father here or in Jerusalem."

Before Maurice closed in prayer Grandma Bet's grand kids read and presented a card to Kingdom Builders: The card said, "When someone offers gladly to help out in any way, It brings you such good feelings and brings sunshine to your day. When someone knows just how to make you smile and cheer your mood, It brings you warmth and joy and fills your heart with gratitude. When someone says, "I understand," your cares seem so much lighter-When someone takes the time... it makes your whole world so much brighter." (Amanda Bradley) Thank you so much-May the world always be as wonderful for you as you make it for others! My prayer is that God will continue to be revealed and work in the lives of these children.

On Thursday (10-30-08) Grandma Bet goes into the hospital for hip replacement surgery. I challenge everyone to set some time aside on Thursday to PRAY for this special woman...I know I will.

10-27-08 (Monday)

Today I received an e-mail from Starla Shattler commenting on how neat it was to see God working in this project and the lives of those involved. She quoted a scripture passage from the book of Psalms, which coincides with our project: Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is useless (NLT). This verse helps me keep in perspective that God must be the foundation of this project.

I just finished reviewing the latest set of preliminary plans with all the changes and they look GREAT! Grif said he would have plans completed and ready for final review on Monday. Thanks Grif for all your hard work.

I just got off the phone with Bud Whitlock of Whitlock Land Surveying, Inc. who previously agreed to donate his services for our project. I forwarded him the legal descriptions of the property for him to start the surveying process. This survey is needed for us to complete our plans and permitting. Grandma Bet be prepared to see someone from Whitlock Land Surveying in the very near future. This will be the first recorded work activity at the site.

Sunday morning in praise band practice Denise Griffin felt God was leading her to have a member of the team introduce a song she would be singing..."I Have To Believe" through their personal testimony. What a perfect opportunity I was given to share with our congregation about Kingdom Builders and how through belief in prayer God has blessed us. The blessing came in a form of a $15,000 grant, which was donated to the project last week. Our interim pastor Rick Nations made the comment that Kingdom Builders must have more FAITH than SENSE to take on a project like this....and we do...and He will carry us through.

I can't help but think about the scripture passage in Mark 9: 21-27 "How long has this been happening?" Jesus asked the boy's father. He replied, "Since he was very small. 22The evil spirit often makes him fall into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us. Do something if you can." 23"What do you mean, 'If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." 24The father instantly replied, "I do believe, but help me not to doubt!" 25When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. "Spirit of deafness and muteness," he said, "I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!" 26Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy lay there motionless, and he appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd, "He's dead." 27But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up (NLT). Do you ever find yourself praying, "God I believe, but help me not to doubt?"

Yesterday, Paula Tharpe (Tiles by Fran) said she would like to donate the tile for the kitchen back splash and counter tops. She also said, if Grandma Bet wanted, she could pick out colors, designs, etc... to customize the tiles.

I just got off the phone with Cathy Britt who submitted an application to the Lattner Foundation for a grant. She has confirmed that Kingdom Builders (through Rebuilding Together) has been approved for a grant ranging between $10,000.00 to $15,000.00 dollars, which will be funded in December of 2008.

10-13-08 (Monday PM)

Over 20 people attended tonight's meeting. Grandma Bet was given the gift/note from D. Ray and Jeanne Harris at the start of our meeting. After opening the gift and reading the note, Grandma Bet's eyes were filled with tears of joy, thanking God for all he has done.

We were able to enlist more individuals and companies to help with the project, they are as follows:
Derrick Robinson (tmRobinson Construction), Wayne Gourley (Gourley Plastering), Scott Stanley (Scosta Corporation) and Tom Griffin (Griffin's Carpet Mart). I challenged all in attendance, to continue to pray each day that God would provide for the needs of this project.

Other discussion centered around permitting fees, impact fees, framing labor, owner/builder permitting, non-profit organization status, project insurance requirements, request for current property survey, and looking into SHIP program fund availability. We reviewed preliminary house plans with Grif Broach, and discussed various ways to publicize and raise funding for the project.

Maurice made the suggestion that we have some type of benefit before we kick off the project (to help with public awareness and raising funds), which would include testimony, music, food, etc... What a sweet time of fellowship this would be with different denominations, generations, and races all praising God for the blessings he has bestowed upon us in providing for Grandma Bet's new home. Maurice said his sister Lisa needed something to do, so we put her to work organizing the benefit.

Talk among the Wilson family for a project start date was November 30, in remembrance of Grandma Bet's late husbands (Albert Wilson) birthday. My only concern is this is the Holiday Season and a busy time for many individuals.

Our next scheduled meeting will be on Monday 10-27-08 at 7:00 PM (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid).

WOW! If you would have told me I would be a "blogger" several weeks ago I would have said, "you're crazy," unfortunately most of you know the extent of my Internet skills.

Thank you so much for the personal e-mails (sseignious@embarqmail.com) and your comments on the blog. Your words are so encouraging to me and others. Please continue to share this blog (http://www.kingdombuildersministries.blogspot.com/) and the project with others. My prayer is that God's work to build his KINGDOM will become contagious throughout our community, country and world.

10-9-08 (Thursday)

A PRAISE report; last week Tracy had the opportunity to share with Jeanne and D. Ray Harris about the project while at church one evening, Jeanne called later that week to say they would like to help in some way. This afternoon Jeanne came by our office and gave a generous donation towards the project and a surprise gift and note for Grandma Bet. We will be presenting Grandma Bet with the gift and note at our Monday 10-13-08 7:00 PM meeting (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid).

When I see people act in this manner, I can't help but think of what Jesus said in Mark 12: 29-31 Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this: 'hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength.' 31The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these. Terry Weaver has always told me LOVE is an action word-I must agree.

10-8-08 (Wednesday)
Well today is the first day the "blog" is up and running.
All my journal notes from the start of the project to date have been entered. There are still some additional items (Gadgets-blog talk) I want to add to the blog (pictures, video, etc...). Please be patient, this technology is new to me.

I met Grif Broach today and reviewed the first set of preliminary house plans-exciting! I hope to get some input from other individuals before next Monday's (10-13-08 @ 7:00 PM) meeting to give Grif some final direction. These plans will be available for review at the meeting.

10-7-08 (Tuesday):
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY-What It's About

It's not about recognition and it's not about financial condition.
It's not about fame nor critical acclaim, not about a market crash, not about piles of cash, not about fashion, labels, and jewels nor about elaborate man-made rules.
It's not about MCI, AT&T, not ABC, CBS or NBC, not satellite, modem or new Internet, not Lincoln, or Lexus, or classic Corvette.
It's not about a better view.
It's not about the graven pew, not 0 to 60 exeleration, not extra-terrestrial civilization.

It's about seizing the chance to stand and prevail, against the fortified bastions of hell, against unconquered spiritual regions, and rescuing souls form the unholy legions.
It's about counting the cost and bringing the lost to the throne of grace to see Christ's holy face.
When we look to the sky and He appears with a shout, no one will deny what this life's all about.

10-3-08 (Friday):
This morning I had a great time of fellowship and prayer with some of my Friday morning accountability group (Terry Weaver and Bill Ross). Much discussion centered around Kingdom Builders ministry—with all of us in awe, how God has blessed the project and blessed all those involved.

We started talking about the power and sovereignty of God. Bill mentioned that he had read Dr. David Jeremiah’s devotional regarding Acts 17: 26—They should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. Dr. David Jeremiah had the following to say and I quote, “There is a fundamental emptiness in every human being which can only be filled by the presence of God Himself. It is interesting to note that the only time Jesus Christ cried out in loneliness was from the cross when the Father forsook Him and allowed Him to die as a sacrifice for the world. Without the presence of God, the most agonizing loneliness will afflict even the strongest person. No person should search for a solution for his loneliness without solving the basic issue of separation from God. Accepting Jesus Christ, and being filled by His Spirit, is the first step toward overcoming the negative dimensions of loneliness.” As we discussed this we couldn’t help but think of those people we know who have that fundamental emptiness; it is not until you accept Christ that you are truly content and have an inner sense of peace about yourself, knowing that through his spirit, GOD has filled your emptiness with his presence—WOW!

10-2-08 (Thursday):
Again this morning in quiet time God’s word is lining up with the vision of Kingdom Builders ministry. The scripture passage today was Acts 1: 4-8. Verse 8-But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere—In Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (NLV).

Dr. Charles Stanley challenges us and I quote “God wants to use us, but He hasn’t left us to tackle the job on our own. The one who holds all the power and authority in the universe is with us step by step, and He has put that power within us through His Holy Spirit. Everything we need is at our fingertips. All that’s left is for us to follow the command to “Go!” Where will that command lead you today?
10-1-08 (Wednesday):
In my quiet time this morning (from Dr. Charles Stanley's In Touch Devotional) God led me to the scripture passage, Matthew 28: 18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (NLT) Dr. Charles Stanley stated and I quote, “The Christian life is an active life—one dedicated to working, serving, sharing, and helping. Too often, we think that being a believer simply means showing up for church each Sunday morning and dropping something into the offering plate. That’s a good habit, but if it’s the sum total of your Christian life, you have missed the mark.”

What can you do right now to “go…and make disciples”? Think about things you can do today to respond to God’s call on you life?
9-29-09 (Monday):
I woke up this morning knowing that tonight we would be having another meeting about the project with the hopes of enlisting more individuals and companies to help. In my quiet time today, the first thing I prayed was God please provide us with the needs to keep this project moving in a positive direction. I also prayed for him to give me strength to see this project to the end.

At 11:00 AM this morning while working at my office, Keith Lagrow dropped in and said that he had been praying and that the Holy Spirit was leading him to come see me about our project. It was at that time he dropped a check on my desk, and said this is what God had laid on his heart to give. How AWESOME is it to see God at work!

I spoke to Ronnie Hathaway today about site work; he said he would do anything we needed. Ronnie agreed to work together with Marty Hickey (Hickey Excavation).

I called Joe Lyon today who has agreed to provide a window package if needed. Joe also said he could help provide plumbing fixtures.

Again the meeting was a HUGE success. Maurice and I were able to give testimony on the $1,500.00 cash donations given to us. It was a pleasure to have Grandma Bet attend along with many others from her community.

Lou Canevari introduced us to Grif Broach who wants to provide all the drafting and engineering at no cost. He has agreed to generate a preliminary set of plans within a week and working plans for permitting within in two weeks. This is a huge blessing, because we will be able to design our own set of plans to meet Grandma Bet’s needs.

As we went down the takeoff list seeing who we could enlist to help with the project: God is continuing to answer prayers. Some of those who said they would help with the project are:
Donald Clark (Clark Pest Control), Ray Huber (Soffit/Fascia), Tom Wirth (Marlin Marble),
Sharion Hudson (All Around Septic), Gene Lollis’s Brother (to donate slab steel materials),
Bud Whitlock (Whitlock Surveying), and Don Maddox (Central Florida Glass).

Much discussion was centered on the importance of making others within the community aware of this project. While at lunch with my wife (Tracy) mentioned that I should start an Internet Blog to have a place where people can go to learn about the ministry and be updated on the project status. While at our meeting my daughter (Chelsea) and Tracy went on line and set up a Blog (Kingdom Builders), which was up and running when I returned home. It will take some time to enter pictures, notes, etc…, but I am looking forward to using this technology to promote the project/ministry. I also talked to Terry Weaver and his wife Tony is working on providing us with a CD to help promote the project.

A question that was brought up is what are we going to do with any excess money that is left over from this project? What a good thing to be concerned about! It was agreed upon by all that we would shift it to the next project God lay’s before us. It also raised the importance of Kingdom Builders becoming a Non-Profit organization, so that we can continue to do ministry. I told Grandma Bet her project was a launch for more good things to come, as God give us direction for other ministry opportunities.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday 10-13-08 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid.
9-25-08 (Thursday):
I spoke to Maurice today and he said that his cousin Andre, who attended our first meeting, was asking him a lot of questions about God. He explained to me that Andre seemed to be seeking God. Maurice has stated that he can already see how God is working in the lives of those that are involved in this project-WOW! We both agreed again the importance of looking for the opportunity to lead those around us to Christ.

As I write today’s notes I can’t help but think what God has in store for us, not just with regards to this project, but also with Kingdom Builders ministry. I am confident (through FAITH) that if we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, he will guide and direct us every step of the way. How awesome it is to see the life of a person change as they seek to know Jesus.

God help us all to live by this scripture passage each day: Romans 12: 1-2 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is (NLT).
9-24-08 (Wednesday):
My Dad told me that he had spoken to Charlie (store manager at W & W Lumber) and they would be willing to donate all kinds of building materials for this project.
9-23-08 (Tuesday):
Today I went to Heartland National Bank today to make a deposit for our business and while there had the opportunity to talk to Jim Clinard. He is involved in “Rebuilding Together” and had heard about our project. It was a perfect opportunity to share with him about the project and where God was leading us with Kingdom Builders ministry. He expressed that the “Rebuilding Together” organization was disbanding and he would like to be a part of what we are doing.

Maurice called today and said there are seven (older) women that meet everyday at 12:00 noon to pray for their community (Highway Park). These women have been meeting since 1992.
On Sunday (9-21-08) they gave Maurice a $500.00 check to put towards the project. Maurice could not express to me the excitement these women conveyed to him about this project. This project is going to be a huge testimony in this community on the power of prayer.
9-16-08 (Tuesday):
Today is an exciting day, it is our first meeting (7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid) with those who have stepped up and said they would participate in the project. It is our intent to see what is needed from a standpoint of donations and/or finances to complete the project.

I spoke to Keith Lagrow today and he has agreed to help with the irrigation system if needed.
I also spoke to Joe Lyon (HD Supply, Inc.) and he has agreed to help supply building materials.

The meeting was a HUGE success; we had (18) people show up. All those in attendance were asked to introduce themselves and explain what they could or would be bringing to the project. I was able to share a brief history of how the project got started and how God has led us to this point. It was a sweet time of testimony and interaction between all that attended, and as the meeting progressed, it was felt by all that this ministry-KINGDOM BUILDERS-could become a ministry that would encompass all kinds of needs throughout our community. We all felt like it should be a multi-denominational organization, not limiting ourselves to just building projects. This vision was embraced by all. Who knows where this ministry will go and how big it will become, as long as we are sensitive to GOD’S leading and will.

The vision is to go out into our community, country, other cultures and the world Acts 1: 8 Jesus speaks-"But when the Joly Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NLT) serving others (revealing God’s glory) with a mission to spread the gospel message. With a vision somewhat in place, we felt that this ministry definitely needed to become a Non-Profit organization.
9-14-08 (Sunday):
Today at 2:00 PM Tracy and I had the pleasure of meeting at Betty Wilson’s house with Rick Miller, Michael Cannon, Terry Weaver, Maurice Wilson, and Betty Wilson to discuss the project and the details of how God has worked and answered prayers through-out the week. Terry Weaver was able to video some conversation, portions of the house and take pictures of the house before we begin demolition. What a sweet time to hear Maurice and his mother’s heart about how God has been working in their lives the past week.

Reminder: As we work on this project we need to be intently looking for individuals who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior. We have to be ready and willing to share the gospel message with anyone at anytime.
9-11-08 (Thursday):
Today Alan Ball came by the office and dropped off copies of house plans. I asked him if he thought Suzanne Hunicutt of Chastain & Skillman, Inc. would be willing to provide the plans and engineering for this project. Alan called Suzanne and told her about the project, and agreed to provide her service at no charge-GOD IS GOOD!

I received an e-mail from Brian Simmons stating, "Thanks for sharing what GOD is doing in your life. I want to be a part of what you are doing. Before you order any electrical materials, please get with me".
9-10-08 (Wednesday)
I spoke to Brian Simmons (Electrical Wholesalers, Inc.) today about this ministry and project. Brian was excited and told me they would be able to donate some electrical materials. I also challenged him to talk up this project with others that he may know through-out the community.
My Dad came by today to obtain information to research the property size, zoning requirements, health department issues, etc… in order to begin the permitting process. Dad returned with good news from the Zoning Department, Mrs. Wilson owns both lots, and has the necessary square footage to build a 4-bedroom house in the middle of both lots. Lot 5 Block 34 is 42’W X 120’D, Lot 1 Block 34 is 45’W X 120’D (Total 10,440 SQFT). He commented that he prayed before he went into the Zoning Department; again God is opening doors.

Tracy and I met over lunch with Paul Von Merveldt to discuss the project and beginning a men’s ministry. I can’t explain the enthusiasm and excitement of our conversation as we discussed the possibilities of KINGDOM BUILDERS MINISTRIES.
9-9-08 (Tuesday):
Paul Britt called today wanting to confirm the use of our Church (First Baptist Church of Lake Placid) as a Non Profit organization to secure a possible $10,000.00 to $15,000.00 grant.

Rick Miller called and said he had spoken to his pastor (St. James Catholic Church) and he is very much interested in getting involved with the project. Rick mentioned that his pastor (Michael Cannon) wanted to get involved serving with other churches in the community. Rick and his pastor want to meet with Betty Wilson (and family) on Sunday 9-14-08 @ 2:00 PM.

I called Alan Ball with Habitat for Humanity to see if he would give us access to their house plans. Alan said he would be glad to bring their plan book by our office on Thursday for us to review.

I spoke with Gregg Foster (Foster's Painting) today and he agreed to provide all the labor and materials to paint the house. I was able to spend some good time talking with Greg about family and spiritual matters.
9-8-08 (Monday):
Today my first call was from Gene Canevari, saying they would (C & C Plumbing) donate all the plumbing for the Wilson house.

I called Maurice to give him the good news about the plumbing donation. He said that he also had donations confirmed for all the shingles/installation along with the drywall/installation.

Paul Britt later called and said he and his wife wanted to help with the project, possibly securing a grant from some of their sources, he also wanted to know what church I attended, because he and his wife wanted to be part of whatever was moving me and the others in this project. So I invited him and his wife to come worship with us on Sunday morning.

I called Chelsea (my daughter) today and told her about the project and asked her to be praying.
I spoke to Keith Campbell about seeing if our Church could be the Non Profit Organization (501C) to run this project through. Tracy commented that she would do all the accounting (on Quick Books) to make it easier on the Church. Keith and Paul Von Merveldt called back confirming they could use the Non Profit Organization of the Church to run the project through.

Gene Lollis called (during lunch) and said he was committed to the project and wanted to donate all the cabinets. He requested house plans so that he could start working out the details.

Tracy and I ran into Denise and Bull Griffin at lunch with much conversation confirming the ministry opportunities in our church and our community. GOD IS DEFINITELY AT WORK!

I called my Dad (Bo Seignious) about getting paperwork together for house takeoffs, permitting, etc.., and he agreed to start the process.
9-7-08 (Sunday):
This whole week our men’s Sunday Morning Small Group has been studying Ministry (serving others) in the "Purpose Driven Life" book by Rick Warren. The scripture passage that stuck out from this weeks study was Philippians 2: 1-5--Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and sympathetic? 2Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one heart and purpose. 3Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression one others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. 4Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing. 5Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had (NLT)

Today Terry Weaver and I went to visit Mrs. Wilson and her family, Upon our visit seeing Mrs. Wilson’s humble and servant spirit, we received further confirmation from God that we were moving in the right direction. It was in this initial meeting we realized the important part she plays in all the kids lives that frequent her home each day. We all shared our hearts reading scripture, and rejoicing in God. Before we left we were able to meet more family, share more scripture (specifically Philippians 2: 1-5) circle up in the front yard and pray that God would lead us through this project.

As we drove away I will never forget the words Terry Weaver said, “We need to build that woman a house”. He also said, "It was easy to help someone, who for so long has humbly helped so many others day in and day out". Terry and I agreed that we would get his wife Toni to take a video of the family and house before demolition.
9-6-08 (Saturday):
Today I spoke to Rodger Smith at our (First Baptist Church) coffee house event, and explained to him we were going to be building Mrs. Wilson a new home. He later introduced me to Chris, who works for Highlands Today newspaper. She said she would be happy to provide newspaper coverage on this project at no charge.
9-5-08 (Friday):
After (2) weeks of prayer and counsel with my Friday morning accountability group (Terry Weaver, Keith Campbell, Scott McClean, Bull Griffin, and Bill Ross), I called Maurice in the afternoon and told him God was leading me in the direction of building his mother a new home. It was then that Maurice told me he had been fasting (not eating meat) for the last two weeks. I felt as if God had lifted a burden from me after my conversation with Maurice. I told him I wanted to meet his mother on Sunday 9-7-08 afternoon and he agreed.
8-27-08 (Wednesday):
Today I met with Paul and Cathy Britt (Rebuilding Together), Rick Miller (Miller's Central Air), Maurice Wilson, and Lisa Bellamy (Maurice's sister) at Mrs. Betty Wilson’s house to discuss a remodel project. While inspecting the house and sensing God’s spirit moving Rick Miller and I agreed with the possibility of tearing the house down and building a new one. We all agreed to pray for several weeks and see where God leads us in this project.
