8-28-09 (Friday)

At Tuesday's (8-25-09) meeting it was the consensus of the Board to move forward with Mrs. Pudding's (Wesley) project and the "Love Out Loud" event.

There are some preliminary details (addition set-back requirements, termite damage assessment, permitting, etc...) that must be worked out before we can give Mrs. Pudding final confirmation and move forward. Scott Seignious, Lou Canevari, Walt Kohl, Tom Wrenn, and Mike Bevis will start working on these details. The "Love Out Loud" event is in the planning stages and will be directed by Steve Davis, Maurice Wilson, and Keith Campbell.

Please keep us in your prayers as we once again step out on FAITH and move forward with these two projects.

Our next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday (9-8-09) 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. After this meeting we hope to move our meetings back to Monday nights.

God Bless!

8-15-09 (Saturday)

On Thursday night, Kingdom Builders Board of Director members Lou Canevari, Terry Weaver, Scott Seignious, Steve Davis, and Maurice Wilson opened the meeting with a time of worship through prayer by all.

Our prayers for the last two weeks were for God to reveal to each of us our passions, burdens, and direction for this ministry. Through our discussion God has revealed the following:

  • A vision for Kingdom Builders to partner with other churches, not just in our community but abroad; in hopes to share with them what God has done through us in our community.
  • Do not procrastinate or over analyze projects. If God provides the resources and means...go to work. If a project his helping someone in need, its is pleasing to God.
  • We all need to be obedient and seeking God wholeheartedly in our private worship, so that we can be sensitive to the Holy Spirits calling.
  • We must continue to act on FAITH. As you look at the story of Peter stepping out of the boat; it wasn't until he took his eyes of Jesus that he began to sink in the water.
  • During a project we must make a better effort to incorporate those individuals within the community we are serving. This hopefully will open the door for us to share the love of Jesus, the Gospel message and make them aware that this project was accomplished through us by GOD.
  • Don't just stand there do something! We may not have the funding in place to tackle a specific project, but ministry can still take place. LOVE OUT LOUD, getting a group of God's people together (once a month ?) to clean-up communities or local parks, stage free car washes, visit those in nursing homes, cook meals for those in need, help churches with specific needs, provide services to help the elderly; cutting grass, yard clean-up, etc... the list goes on, and on.... Sharing the love of Jesus through action (1 John 3: 18)!

I ask that you continue to support this ministry in prayer and financially as we draw closer to making a decision on moving forward with a project for Mrs. Pudding (Wesley). Her house is in need of termite treatment, a modified handicap ramp, utility room addition and handicap bathroom addition, so she can better tend to her eighty two year old husband who is blind.

Our next scheduled Kingdom Builders meeting is Tuesday (8-25-09) 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid.

We recapped Grandma Bet's project, praising God for all he has done through the lives of so many individuals who where part of this project. I explained to all who were present that thank yous were not enough for all who helped in making this project a success.

Please keep Kingdom Builders in your prayers as the Board of Directors takes the next two weeks to pray asking God to reveal our personal passions, burdens, and direction for this ministry.

7-9-09 (Thursday)

During my quiet time this morning I ran across this scripture passage in Philippians 2: 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey and the power to do what pleases him (NLT). With God working in us, why is it so hard for us to submit and understand His will for our lives? Maybe we don't understand the magnitude of our salvation through Jesus Christ and God working (living through the Holy Spirit) in us.

6-27-09 (Saturday)

On Saturday a little after noon Grandma Bet walked into her new home only to discover a house full of people welcoming her with shouts of excitement "WELCOME HOME!" Little known to Grandma Bet, many friends, family, and project donators came together to celebrate her house warming. Tears of joy flowed from Grandma Bet's eyes and from many others in attendance. The only words Grandma Bet could say were "Praise God, God is good". I must admit that as we watched the Grandma Bet Story DVD clip, tears came to my eyes, too.

There is a part of me and many more Kindgom Builders members that are sad to see this project come to an end. But as I write this today, I can't wait to see what God has in store for KINGDOM BUILDERS. Grandma Bet's project is just the start of bigger and better things. God of the City (click here) where do we go from here?

The countdown began Monday for our launch of Grandma Bet's (surprise) Saturday house warming...prayer, late night shopping trips, furniture donation pick-ups, final building inspection, final survey, pest control spraying, obtaining a certificate of occupancy, more prayer, final grading, tree planting, turning on electricity, charging the HVAC system, landscaping, laying sod, adjusting irrigation, more prayer, trimming trees, site clean-ups, inside cleaning, kitchen stocking, more last minute shopping trips, moving furniture, more prayer, hanging pictures, blinds, curtains, building a picnic table and furniture, delivery of appliances and furniture, more prayer, last minute curtain sewing, towel monogramming and more clean-up.
Only God could orchestrate the details and last minute to do list items that were completed this week; and the beauty was seeing how he instrumentally used so many people, with so many talents to become ONE unified body...BUILDING GOD'S KINGDOM.
Ephesians 4: 4-6 We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. 5 There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and there is only one God and Father, who is over us all and in us all and living through us all (NLT).
